Poet, playwright and broadcaster Lemn Sissay visits the newsroom!

Poet, playwright and broadcaster Lemn Sissay OBE paid a special visit to the Media Cubs pop-up TV studio and newsroom this Easter, to announce the launch of the Festival of Libraries!
The VIP visited Standish Library as part of the Media Cubs Holiday Activity and Food clubs – delivered in partnership with Wigan Council, thanks to Department of Education funding.
Lemn was interviewed by four mini reporters, who had spent the morning learning interview, filming and presenting skills in preparation for their exclusive news assignment – watch the interview here [hyperlink once this is live – ask Jodie for YouTube link]
Grace Dyke, co-founder of Media Cubs, said: “Being able to introduce our mini reporters to real life role models in order to raise their aspirations is central to our Media Cubs ethos – so it was great to get Lancashire-born Lemn down to share his amazing career journey with our Wigan reporters.
“Lemn was one of the most entertaining interviewees we have had in the newsroom- some of the reporters cried with laughter at his responses!”
If you know, or are, a role model who would like to be interviewed by Media Cubs reporters, get in touch.
