Media Cubs celebrates busiest summer ever in the studio!

It’s been an amazing summer for the team, as we have delivered Media Cubs pop-up TV studio and newsroom sessions across Greater Manchester, turning more than 250 children and young people into mini reporters.

Mini reporters have developed a range of media and communication skills while also growing in confidence: through reporting, interviewing and filming challenges.

The sessions have been delivered in partnership with Wigan Council, Trafford Council and Salford Council- as well as providing free sessions at Manchester libraries thanks to funding from National Lottery Community Fund.

Kirsty Day, “Big Boss”, says: “Wow! What a summer! After the past year and a half through the pandemic of not being able to deliver in-person sessions – it was great to be back in the real-life pop-up TV studio and newsrooms across Greater Manchester, working with hundreds of new mini reporters. As always it was fantastic to see each individual grow in confidence each week, find new skills and talents they didn’t know they had, and meet new friends! We have had a blast and can’t wait to do it again in school holidays, as well as getting back into after-school clubs while also keeping our virtual sessions going.”

We plan to build on the partnerships developed this summer to deliver more clubs across the region. If you’re interested in working with us, contact team@mediacubs.co.uk
