Parents are choosing Media Cubs as one of their lockdown learning allies so that their children can become confident communicators who can create, navigate and debate the news – while staying safe (and entertained) with positive screen time at home!
We have brought our pop-up TV studio and newsroom – led by journalist and mum Kirsty Day – online to host weekly hands-on media challenges including photography and filming, comic strip-making, TV presenting and newspaper reporting.
The one-hour weekly workshops are aimed at 7-11 year-olds and will:
- Boost your little person’s communications skills, giving them confidence to give their views at a time they feel shut out of ‘grown-up’ conversations
- Provide positive media time where they will learn how to spot fake news and try out various news roles: from TV presenter, sports correspondent or comic strip writer
- Provide opportunities to interview real-life guests in the newsroom – as well as interact with their fellow mini-reporters
Try us for free and your mini reporter will receive a 100-page activity pack to keep them inspired and entertained in lockdown and beyond. You can then pay as you go on a ‘pay as you feel basis’ for each session thereafter.
Book a group of 4 sessions on a ‘pay as you feel’ basis for ease: select ‘4 sessions’ under any date, then tell us your date preferences at the checkout.
Can’t attend regularly? No worries, all our workshops take on individual activities and challenges so you can drop into them at any time – but mini reporters experience the real value when they grow together as a news team, week by week.
Kirsty is a DSB- checked, qualified journalist and mum.
